Education in Mexico City
This program, offered by the School of Education and the Study Abroad Program, is a unique opportunity for students to examine educational issues in the context of Mexico and study the Spanish language for three weeks in Mexico City, Mexico.
Mexico City, also known as Federal District, is the capital of Mexico and one of largest cities in the world with an estimated 30 million residents in the greater metropolitan region. Founded in 1325 on a series of lake beds, it has grown into a bustling metropolis that is home to a fifth of Mexico’s population. Despite the city’s complexity and massive scale, it has a number of attractive areas that can be explored on foot.
During their time in Mexico City, students will take their Education courses and study Spanish language at La Universidad LaSalle. This urban campus has a student population of about 10,000 and is located in Colonia Condesa, a popular residential and commercial area. The campus of Universidad La Salle is just ten minutes by metro from Mexico City's famous Chapultepec Park and Pink Zone, and approximately 20 minutes from its central square. The south of the city, famous for its Spanish colonial architecture, volcanic gardens, and cultural activities is also easily accessible via the subway lines.
