The study abroad program at Corvinus University of Budapest (formerly the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration) offers a unique opportunity for DePaul students to integrate into a multinational and intercultural community of students from around the world living and studying together in one of Europe's most beautiful cities.
Initiated in the spring of 1984, DePaul’s Study Abroad Program in Budapest, Hungary was one of the first U.S. programs in the region. Since then, DePaul students have experienced and witnessed first hand the phenomenal social, cultural and political transformations as Central and Eastern Europe have moved toward a market Economy. Hungary has been a leader in the economic and political changes altering the face of Europe. Studying in Budapest, DePaul students have the unique opportunity to learn about these important developments through courses and everyday interactions.
Situated on the banks of the legendary Danube River, the two cities of Buda and Pest are the center of Hungary’s industrial and cultural life. Historically tied to Austria and Germany, Hungary continues to forge new paths in the development of a multi-party political system and a market economy. Participants will enjoy the location of this renowned program. Corvinus University is set in the heart of the city and borders a thriving commercial and tourist area on the Pest side of the river.

Students are able to eat at the school cafeteria, located in the main University building, or prepare their own meals in a small kitchenette in their dormitory or in their apartments.
