  • Boren Scholarship and Fellowship applications for the 2010-2011 academic year are available on the Boren Awards website (www.borenawards.org). Deadline for graduate students: January 28, 2010. Deadline for undergraduate students: February 10, 2010.

  • Scholarship Competiton: Learning the Legacies
    A competition for scholarships to support students interested in engaging some aspect of he legacies of service of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac through learning experience abroad. Programs eligible: Kenya GRD, SPS Philippines, Paris IES, SPS Chiapas.

    Searchable database by country, individual, and intent of studies for undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

  • Worldwide: David L. Boren National Security Education Program (NSEP) Undergraduate Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships
    For undergraduate and graduate students outside of Western Europe, North America, and Oceania. Language training fellowships in Arabic, Central Asian, Korean, Mandarin, Persian and Russian. Upon return, NSEP recipients work for the federal government for the amount of time they are funded overseas.

  • Worldwide: The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships
    Provides funding of up to $23,000 for undergraduates and graduates for overseas study. Applications must go through the local Rotary Club.

  • Worldwide: Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation
    Different types of fellowships per discipline. Students must be of junior or senior status, or first-year graduate to participate.

  • Worldwide: The Fulbright Program
    For U.S. citizens and graduating senior undergraduate and graduate students for many different opportunities abroad and in all fields of study. A Fulbright scholarship is a year-long or 9-12 month program. Contact the Fulbright Program Advisor, Dr. Jonathan Gross of the English Department for more information.

  • Germany: German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
    Very informational website with study abroad programs and internships in Germany for undergraduate and graduate students of all academic areas.

  • Ireland: The George J. Mitchell Scholarship
    For students between the ages of 18-30 for one year of post-graduation study in any discipline in Ireland or Northern Ireland.

  • UK (Cambridge): The Gates Cambridge Scholarship
    Awarded to students post-undergraduate studies, for one-year study opportunity at Cambridge University; applicable to all academic areas of study.

  • UK (Oxford): The Rhodes Trust Scholarship
    Two-year scholarship for study at Oxford University; students must be post-graduate of a BA or similar degree minimum. Applicable for all academic areas of study.
     
  • UK: Panasonic Trust
    The objective of the Panasonic Trust is to encourage and support the professional development and retraining of engineers in the UK .

  • UK: Newton International Fellowships
    The Scheme has been established to select the very best early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world and enable them to work at UK research institutions for a period of two years.

  • UK: Colt Foundation Fellowships
    The Foundation considers applications for funding high quality research projects in the field of occupational and environmental health, particularly those aimed at discovering the cause of illnesses arising from conditions at the place of work.

  • UK: British Heart Foundation Scholarships
    This 3 year non-clinical PhD studentship allows talented medical students to complete a PhD in cardiovascular science before completion of their medical degree.

  • UK: Dr. Hadwen Trust for Humane Research
    The Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research is a registered charity established in 1970 to promote the development of techniques and procedures to replace the use of living animals in biomedical research, testing and teaching. To further this aim, the Trust supports, and assists scientists to discover techniques which will replace experiments on living animals; assists in the provision of facilities and equipment for such research; and encourages through publicity and education the wider adoption of such techniques.
